About Pekto
I was born in 1964 in the beautiful town of Kazanlak – Bulgaria, situated in the Valley Of The Roses and Thracian Kings. It is a city of many artists, famous painters and composers and where the violin-making tradition was established in 1924 when Dimitar Georgiev opened his own small atelier.
I discovered the amazing world of woodcarving and violin makers in 1993, while working in a yacht studio. I started to learn little by little from Paolo Vitorio, one of the best experts in Bulgaria and Italy. Later I collaborated with some other Italian and American masters who gave me the opportunity to learn and gain experience. I continued to specialize in the art of violin making, taking part in several competitions in Italy, USA, France and participating in many exhibitions in Bulgaria, Italy, Germany and USA.
