Luther Strings Retail and Workshop Assistant Job Description
Luther Strings is a family-run string shop based in Denver, Colorado, dedicated to providing musicians at every age and ability with the highest quality instruments and repairs, for the greatest value from our friendly team of expert teachers, performers, and luthiers. We are looking to hire a people-centered, administrative string player looking to be a partner in expanding a small business in its next phase of growth.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Hours: Part-Time Employment (32 Hours Weekly) Tuesday-Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
A full time position is available for a candidate with the availability. Please express your interest in the full time position in your cover letter.
Location: Luther Strings Retail Shop (2018 S. Pontiac Way in Denver)
Responsibilities:
- Repair stringed instruments for Luther Strings customers and clients in a timely manner
- Setup new instruments for inventory
- Assist in the completion of school and nonprofit repairs projects
- Pick up and drop off repairs
- Clean and organize retail spaces
- Assist with conferences, rental nights, instrument testing, other events
- Professionally communicate with other luthiers about project progress and order of projects
- Help maintain the organization and cleanliness of all repair spaces.
- Work with Store Manager to properly invoice customers for their repair work
- Communicate with with the Store Manager on the progress of repairs
- Provide excellent service to customers
- Retail shop customer support as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- String player for any bowed instrument: violin, viola, cello, or bass
- Desire to learn to repair and set up instruments - strings, bridge, tailpiece setup, etc.
